Welcome to The Velvet Rope. We are elated to share that we have officially launched our clothing line, Evolve. Our fashion designs are inspired to elevate Social Responsibility and High Quality workmanship. We create unique hand-crafted designs taking special care for each order.

All proceeds go to the At Risk Movement's campaign to reduce violence in NYC and beyond.

As New York City prepares for its new Legalized Marijuana Laws some community activists and Credible Messengers take issue with minorities being priced out of the business.
It appears that some residents from the minority community desire more than the right to smoke freely. They want in on a business that is projected to guarantee billions annually.

New York City is home to the highest Chinese-American population of any city, with an estimated 573,388 Chinese-Americans in New York City. When some Chinese immigrants settled in NYC low income communities that were predominantly Black, they were welcomed by the Black community. African Americans shared their culture and supported Chinese businesses.

"Bootleggin" and "culture appropriation" in NYC developed into an entire economy in China

Many Chinese merchants (men and women) began to duplicate popular Black artist in America, and eventually Chinese manufacturing sweatshops began to mass produce or "bootleg" the popular Black artists in America. These Chinese merchants sold so much of this music, culture, and products that China itself was heavily influenced to imitate the culture in their own native language and style.
